North Myrtle Beach to Bucksport Plantation Marina, SC

Saturday November 9 we departed Barefoot Landing to Bucksport RV and Marina  - a campground / Marina.

It is actually after their season and the place was deserted, with tumble weed floating around. Not much happening.

Wally borrowed my 20 LB propane tank since his went empty while making his supper. To My surprise my tank was almost empty

The next morning, I set up the Nespresso machine for my neighbors. Only Kathy took me up on Espresso.

Inspired by Julie’s exercising aboard Summer Salt, I did my Yoga on my own. We departed at 8:30 for Georgetown. Easy motoring on the Waccamaw River. It was easy - mostly wide and deep.

Southport NC to Barefoot Landing Marina North Myrtle Beach SC

Bucksport Marina, a resort in North Myrtle Beach.

We decided to exit the ICW into the ocean and return at Little River making our way to Barefoot Marina where we were allowed to stay overnight at their day docks due to Wally’s negotiations.

Barefoot is a resort of family entertainment center consisting of arcades, shops, bars and restaurants.

We had supper at Lulu’s seemingly by Lucy Buffet, the sister of Jimmy. Happy hours Margaritas for 5$ .

The location was very quiet as the season apparently ends at Labour Day. We had wine and cheese at the docks on our own as there were no services - even the Internet was not working.

They don't normally let boats dock overnight, but Wally was able to negotiate an arrangement to let us spend the night there.

I BBQ my last steak on the Kettle BBQ since the winds were from astern and kept blowout the flame. The Kettle performed well as usual.

Whitesville Beach to Morning Star marina at Southport

About 25 miles run.

It was the morning after Trump won the election the night before.

I got fuel. Very empty. 16.5 gals about 63 liters

The trip started slow and shallow first then wider and deeper.

I docked at Morning Star marina at Southport. Nice docks, good help from staff and great facilities but expensive at $103 per night without power.

Supper with Robbie and Esteban.  The town harbor was a movie set for a TV series called Waterfront. Quite an extensive set up. They've taken up the whole harbour town.

The next day Thursday November 7 was wet, and I washed Bellum’s deck, and it rained heavily throughout the afternoon. I got a lot of PC work done on my laptops.

In the evening, we had supper at Provision, the restaurant stayed open for us. Service was very casual, and we had to order at the service counter and pick up our beer ourselves from the coolers. Food was good and quite reasonable. It was way off season for Southport.

Wrightsville Beach to Mile Hammock Bay (Camp Lejeune), NC

Hamock Bay is in a military fire zone where they practiced artillery fire.

Nice anchorage.  I didn't leave the boat

Snode Creek to Dowry Creek anchorage

The morning was cold at 12 C.  Did not want to get out of bed.  Evenually I got out, made Bacon and Eggs and departed at noon.    I could on...
